Dr. John Coyne has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 35 years. He was raised on a farm in Central Illinois and graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. Dr. Coyne also owns and operates Midwest Animal Hospital in Orland Park, Animal Care Center in Chicago and co-own Yorkville Animal Hospital in Yorkville. He is a big fan of University of Illinois athletics, and enjoys all Chicago sports. He and his wife Ruth have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Trudeau graduated from nearby Lincoln-Way High School and completed her undergraduate studies at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. She then moved on to receive her DVM from the University of Illinois in 1990 and began practicing here at FSAH. She has been married for over 20 years and has two children. Her family also extends to her dogs, cats, horses, bird and fish. Horses are her passion and favorite past time outside of work and family. She also enjoys watching football, and when time allows, winding down with a good book.
Dr. Katrina Johnson has been with FSAH since obtaining her DVM from the University of Illinois in 1994. While primarily small animal, Dr. Johnson has a special interest in exotic pets. She has been married for 10 years and has 2 children and 4 stepchildren. the family shares an array of pets including their 18yr old leopard gecko. In her free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys jogging, playing the guitar and singing with her church choir.
Dr. Petrov was raised in a small town in the European country of Bulgaria. He received his DVM in 2000 from Tracian University, one of the largest colleges in Bulgaria. Before coming to the United States in 2004, Dr. Petrov practiced veterinary medicine in his home country, focusing on internal medicine and surgery. He has been practicing at FSAH since 2004, mainly providing specialty serivices in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Petrov has been married for 4 years and has two children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and skiing.
Dr. Velkov, or Dr. Nick as he likes to be called, is originally from the town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria in Europe. He received his DVM from Tracian University in 2003. Prior to moving to the U.S., he spent 3 years as a surgeon at Provet Clinic in Dubai. He has many special interests including abdominal, thoracic and orthopedic surgery, endoscopy and ultrasonography. Outside of FSAH, Dr. Nick has been married for nine years and has two children and a cat Casper. He enjoys watching sports, cooking and collecting wine bottles from all over the world.
Dr. Woodside is from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She has worked for Dr. Coyne since 2004. Her undergraduate dergree in Animal Science is from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2009, she graduated from Kansas State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She currently lives in Wheaton with her husband, two dogs and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys watching the Huskers and training agility with her dog.
Dr. Stateler is originally from Clinton, IN. After receiving her B.S. in biology from Purdue University, she continued her studies there and received her DVM in 2010. She has also spent time training with veterinarians in Australia, South Africa and India. In addition to her love of travel, she enjoys photography, cooking and the outdoors. The rest of her free time is spent with her pets; a miniature dachshund named Jellybean and two cats, Jade and Sapphire. Dr. Stateler's special interests include internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
Animals were a big part of Dr. Adley's life while growing up in Colorado and central Minnesota. She was active in her local 4-H dog training program, and her family raised American Paint Horses. She received her DVM from Purdue University in 2010. During vet school, she traveled to South Africa and India as part of the veterinary education exchange programs. Dr. Adley has also traveled overseas for her own enjoyment to Belgium, Ireland, Italy and several other countries. She currently lives with her two rescued Australian Cattle dogs, Sky and Bandit. In her free time, she enjoys skiing in Colorado, reading, horseback riding and cooking with family and friends. Her interests in practice include ophthamology and surgery.
Dr. Cox was raised in Germany on a military base with her family until the age of nine. The family then relocated to Delphi, IN where she finished the rest of her primary education. During her high school years, Dr. Cox worked for a veterinarian in her small town where she developed a love for veterinary medicine. She attended Purdue University and received her B.S. in Biology and a Master's in Animal Science. Shortly after receiving her DVM in 2010, Dr. Cox began working at FSAH. She and her fiance` have four pets; a beagle named Pippin and three cats, Eve, Lecter and Smeagol. In her free time she enjoys playing softball, working out, cooking and traveling to Germany. Her medical interests include surgery and endoscopy.
Dr. Madonia grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago. Prior to attending vet school, she received her Master's in Public Health in which she came to appreciate the important relationship between animal and human health. During vet school, Dr. Madonia traveled to Uganda for a veterinary research project and then on to Germany to further her veterinary experience. She currently lives with her husband and two pets, a cat named Neko and a leopard gecko. In her free time, Dr. Madonia enjoys listening to live music, scuba diving, taking dance lessons and making jewelry. Her medical interests include internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and exotics.
